Yesterday at noon I went with a classmate to a new restaurant.
nà那jiā家fàn饭guǎn馆hěn很dà大，fú服wù务yuán员yě也fēi非cháng常hǎo好。
The restaurant was big, and the waiters were really nice too.
wǒ我kàn看le了hěn很cháng长shí时jiān间，yīn因wèi为wǒ我bù不rèn认shi识nà那xiē些zì字。
I looked at it for a long time, because I didn't know those characters.
tóng同xué学yào要le了yáng羊ròu肉hé和mǐ米fàn饭，wǒ我yào要le了jī鸡dàn蛋hé和yí一gè个cài菜。
My classmate ordered lamb and rice; I ordered eggs and a vegetable dish.
wǒ我men们hái还yào要le了chá茶hé和shuǐ水，nà那ge个chá茶fēi非cháng常hǎo好。
We also ordered tea and water — the tea was excellent.
dàn但shì是fú服wù务yuán员sòng送lái来de的cài菜shì是cuò错de的。
But the dish the waiter brought over was the wrong one.
wǒ我yào要de的shì是jī鸡dàn蛋，tā他gěi给wǒ我yí一gè个yú鱼。
What I'd ordered was eggs, but he gave me a fish.
wǒ我gào告sù诉fú服wù务yuán员zhè这ge个wèn问tí题。
I told the waiter about the problem.
fú服wù务yuán员kàn看le了yī一xià下，jiù就dǒng懂le了。
The waiter took one look and understood.
tā他sòng送lái来le了jī鸡dàn蛋，hái还sòng送le了yí一gè个píng苹guǒ果。
He brought me the eggs, and threw in an apple as well.
nà那ge个jī鸡dàn蛋fēi非cháng常hǎo好chī吃，dàn但shì是yú鱼tài太guì贵le了。
The eggs were delicious, but the fish was just too expensive.
tóng同xué学xiào笑le了，tā他jué觉de得zhè这jiàn件shì事qíng情hěn很yǒu有yì意si思。
My classmate laughed — he thought the whole thing was pretty funny.
suī虽rán然yǒu有yì一diǎn点ér儿wèn问tí题，dàn但shì是wǒ我men们chī吃dé得hěn很gāo高xìng兴。
Even though there was a small problem, we had a great meal.
xià下cì次wǒ我yào要qù去nà那jiā家fàn饭guǎn馆chī吃miàn面tiáo条，bù不chī吃yú鱼le了。
Next time I'll go to that restaurant for noodles — no fish.
