个
个 is the measure word you use when you don't know the right measure word. 一个人 one person, 三个苹果 three apples, 五个星期 five weeks. A number cannot sit directly on a noun in Chinese, so something has to go in between. 个 is that default, and it is the most common measure word by far. When you learn a new noun, learn its measure word at the same time.
